Join me on the mat 7- 8pm Wednesday evenings at Infinity Dance, Springhead,  for a series of  Yin yoga sessions that will support and nourish our bodies. 

Through our practice of physical postures, breathing, relaxation/meditation we can cultivate a healthy body and a calm and focussed mind. We’ll work through a sequence of floor based poses, designed to gently open the whole body,  get our energy moving, improve our circulation and help support our nervous system and digestive health. 

We’ll work through: 
* Opening the hips
* Releasing the lower back
* Nourishing the adrenal glands
* Letting go of old, stuck emotions
* Opening up the meridians

This class is suitable for beginners.

Louise delivered a nourishing 2 hour yin yoga practise .The floor based poses were deep and releasing .Together  with breathwork  and yoga nidra a very  relaxing experience .Highly recommend.

Excellent workshop this evening with Yin Yogi teacher Louise and Reiki Master Michaela. The two hour event was incredibly relaxing and good for alleviating anxiety, softening and stretching aching joints and muscles, and was wonderful preparation for a deep and restful sleep. Would highly recommend, especially for those of us having sleep issues.

I attended the Friday night workshop which incorporated yin yoga and reiki. This for me was a unique healing experience. The positions on the mat using bolsters helped balance my body. Louise has a gentle calming way of delivering the practice. The addition of Michaela’s healing hands harmonised each area she touched. I left the session with a total sense of well being which continued into the following day. I can highly recommend these sessions.

The Yin Yogi 

Having practised many styles of yoga over the past 15 years: Iyengar, Ashtanga, Hatha & Vinyasa, I attended my first Yin class in 2019 and couldn’t believe the profound & transformational effects it had on both the mind & body.  I was quickly hooked on Yin! Fast forward to 2023 and I felt compelled to start my teacher training journey, completing both Yin level one and two teacher training courses. My passion for yoga continues, more training is booked and I am delighted to have this opportunity to share my classes with the local community .

Yin with Louise 

Yin yoga is a slower, more meditative practice giving space to turn the gaze inwards and tune into the mind and physical sensations within the body. Each asana is derived from Hatha, but the process of holding the pose for an extended period (2 -5 mins) is rooted in Daoism.

Energetically yin yoga enhances the flow of chi (energy) to the organs, improving health, immunity and emotional wellbeing.  It works deeply into the body with passive longer held poses targeting the connective tissues, deep fascial network, ligaments and joints. By stretching and deepening into the poses, we’re opening up any blockages, releasing toxins and allowing the energy to flow freely.
 
Yin yoga teaches us how to be present in the moment, breathe through discomfort and sit with our thoughts.
Complementing active and fast-paced lifestyles, it supports physical and mental resilience, injury prevention, and stress management.
 
This class is suitable for all levels, and will consist of a sequence of mainly floor based poses.
